I believe you. I would want to see how it handled transfers, music on hold, call park/retrieve and other scenarios to understand what "does" and "doe not" work on them.
They look like really nice phones, but I am guessing they only send "option" data in the headers or let their proxy inject that kind of data, which make the phone "somewhat" useless on other systems.
