Sam, I take your point about not spending money trying to resurrect or replace
any PowerPc computer. It's just I have an emotional attachment to my PowerBook
after nine years of trusty service.

I am looking at replacing it with a second-hand MacBook Pro (2008/9) vintage,
which should be affordable and give good service. Having just indulged myself
with an iPad 2 (and having bought a new iMac last year), I can't really
justify another new machine.

Thanks to all on this forum for their advice and help. I really appreciate it.

Martin
