Indeed as the reset doesn't work I do fear this is not software/ 
firmware related :(

Well I tried another psu model, that didn't help either :(
However I want to stay positive, maybe this is not generalized or  
there will be an "easy fix" with a bit of soldering just like the RTC.
For my personal use, I can live with it . But I cannot propose  
solutions based on it to customers in the current state.
