Caimlyn was more than curious about these vodka drinks, but he had a feeling he was going to regret trying them out. "Well, it seemed like the fastest way to get out and see the universe. Starfleet offers so many possibilities. If I had stayed at home, I would probably had to become a diplomat like my sister. It was not something I was really interested in."
She shrugged. "Well, Starfleet is better off for having you," she smiled with a little wink. "And have you seen the universe?" An old American song about the days when ocean-going navies ruled the world was: 'I joined the Navy to see the world. What did I see? I saw the sea.' She had never seen much difference from then, with an ocean of water, to now, with an ocean of stars.
