Actually the earlier as I understand it... But it really makes no sense in the real world because you can never be sure how many sprinklers will operate. I offer a quick example of a combustible breezeway that was being pressure washed. A refueling mishap, operator threw the flaming 5 gal gas can down the brezeway 10 heads activated out of the 5 initially calced... All was well. But if you keep inmind the 18 fps, by UL my system may not have worked. Things in the real world don't necessarily fit into NFPA, GSA, UFC, IBC, ect... But what I can inherently rely on is the fact that you break the triangle, and you've got a great chance of being successful...
