As usual all the posts are defending the product and the staus quo at all costs and failing to see my point.
Snary Dwarf thinks it is fine that typing "Bach Cantats" into the search gets not hits and you should have to use the advanced search. Typing the same thing into Amazon to find a book, or Windows Media Player to find an album or track, or Google to find a page does work - but who cares SlimServer is the greatest thing in the world so it's search algorithm must be the best even if it does not work like the others. Aubuti bangs on that my Browse Music Folder view is rubbish so it's fine that Slim Server does not show art on it and could we please stop talking about it and move to another view. Even though he admits many people use the he thinks we are all wrong. He can't imagine why anyone prefers some custom built tree to a simple Genre, Artist, Album tree etc. He also wrongly claims that BMF is slow (for a really big music collection on a Qnap I think you have no other choice in fact). It's such a pain this forum. Instead of people thinking it's just a knee jerk SlimServer is correct and don't you dare think out of the box. It's fine for getting support or asking usage and ripping questions, but try and suggest something and you are always shot down. I have a Slim Server, a transporter, a few Squeezeboxes, a Qnap etc. It's cost me a lot off money and a lot of time but I know it's got big problems and most people in the world would go crazy trying to use it. Even after having had one for a year and spending many hours on it I have still not got my whole music collection into it. I think many of the problems are caused by the fanatics on this forum who can not see what is sensible and what is not, and push the product in all the wrong directions. PS I am loosing money today and in a bad mood so sorry to be harsh. -- willyhoops ------------------------------------------------------------------------ willyhoops's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10563 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=39082 _______________________________________________ squeezenetwork mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/squeezenetwork
