The job of Superintendent of Saint Paul Public Schools should never be done
based on geography but only on talent and vision. The Saint Paul Public School
system is working, it is fiscally responsible and making academic gains. It is
a district that invites and reacts to community input. It does all these things
because that has been the direction of Saint Paul's School Board expertly and
professionally carried out by Dr. Harvey and her staff.
Dr. Harvey in the conversations I have had with her and the many times I have
observed her working at public meetings is thoughtful and prepared. Her staff
understands the broader district goals and all work to make the district work
for every child. In a town where the families of these kids speak 98 languages
and where the budget has seen cuts of 40 + million dollars in cuts this is not
an easy task but it has been done. This city deserves the best superintendent
we can find and I believe that is exactly what we currently have.
I would hope we can keep Dr. Harvey around and continue the progress this
District is making.

I am with Dennis on this. I would agree. I also always find it interesting
that we can never find an intelligent, educated, saavy and "bound to stay"
Minnesotan to take on this job. I feel that we should always, bottom line,
  hire a Minnesotan.
