Thank you Anne for clarifying the sick pay matter. I
guess you really can't believe everything you read.

As for the longevity bonus, I do appreciate the value
of providing an incentive for good people to stay. I
would add, however, that it's never a good idea for an
employer to be in a position where they believe that a
particular person, and only that person, can do the
job and they've got to pay whatever it takes to retain
that person. No-one is indispensable after all. 

Obviously, a balance needs to be struck and I'm
comfortable with the balance struck by the school
board in dealing with Superintendent Harvey. But this
is a public contract and deserves some scrutiny.
