The STrib misreported the sick pay arrangement. The 2-for-1 goes the other
way. She gets HALF, not double her sick pay if she cashes it out.

In addition, the longevity pay is just that. The average national tenure for
superintendents in districts the size and scope of ours is just 2-3 years.
Short stays and the resulting instability and flux seriously jeopardize the
ability to accomplish the hard work on behalf of kids that takes a great
deal of time, focus, persistence, and commitment. Superintendents who stick
it out through the "I've got all these great ideas for change," and into
actually implementing and refining or redirecting those changes over time to
ensure that they are working for kids, deserve this kind of longevity pay.
