The airport is owned by the Metropolitan Airport Commission, not the City, so 
if the Mayor wants to find businesses that want to donate money to the MAC he 
surely can.  I would guess what would be more of a concern was to read in the 
newspaper that there were 27 callers this year complaining about airport noise 
with the airport as it is.  I would guess that if the money is found to build 
the dike you will see more of an effort from the airport neighbors to close the 
thing down.  Most major cities (like Chicago) have gotten rid of their downtown 
commuter airports as a waist of valuable land.  Only makes sense that the 
Ppress would be advocating a 1930's solution to the problems of 2005.
