<SWOOOSH> as the point goes right over Francis' head.

You're so fixated on claiming we hate the Catholic Church per se that you're
missing the point.

It has nothing to do with how many or how few priests were pedophiles or
boyfuckers, (or girlfuckers, for that matter, there were a LOT of those as
well, see what the Church did in Ireland for generations) the point of all the
outrage has been at the consistent and generations-long cover up and denial of
the problem to the very highest echelons of the church hierarchy.

They denied to the public that the problem existed, and simply moved the
offenders around the world to hide thier crimes from scrutiny (and note,
legally, this behavior makes them criminally liable as accessories, and
certainly morally liable for the damages done to the children and their
families)

This is not the ravings of some anti-catholoc bigots, this is the findings of
governmental inquiries in a number of countries and the effect of civil suits
finally dragging this festering mess into the light of day.

The Pope's OWN BROTHER, a fellow bishop in Germany, and the Pope's former
deputy has been found to be complicit in this. There is no way in hell that the
Pope himself was not involved; for him to deny any knowledge beggars belief.

The issue isn't whether they commited pedophilia in the narrow legalistic sense
or they preferred their boys post-puberty, or how many or how few priests were
involved, it's that the Church valued it's own reputation and coffers over the
well-being of their parishioners, that the Church ACTIVELY and WILLFULLY put
known predators back into situations where they could continue to prey upon
children.
