Maybe we should back up a bit... there's a few things that are good to try first when we Mac folks are having problems. Getting them out of the way narrows down the possibilities, making it easier to determine if it's a hardware or software question. - rebuild the desktop - trash your Finder prefs (found in the System folder-> Preferences Folder) - zap the PRAM (allow the chime to sound more than once) - replace the System File with a fresh copy (boot from an external device for this) - check RAM Dimms for proper seating (and PCI and Processor cards too) - Update Disk Driver(s) (with Apple Drive Setup if possible) - do a clean System install (with the help of the free "Clean-Install Assistant) If the problem persists after these steps it's time to query the group for more measures.
