Disk Warrior isn't carbonized for use in OS X yet (due in Dec. I think), but
in the meantime, booting into OS 9 and using it on your OS X
partition/volume is a good idea. It works to repair any HFS+ disk and won't
harm any files in OS X. If you have Alsoft's Plus Optimizer, you can use it
in the same way... boot into OS 9 and optimize an OS X volume.
Those utilities, and OS X's Disk Utility is about all you'll need until some
of the big guns (Norton, TechTool) get it together.

A method for emergency is to boot from the OS X Jaguar CD and you can run
Disk Utility by activating it from the File menu of the installer window. I
used it that way to repair privileges on my main X volume a few times. It
was a lifesaver.

The only other game in town is "Drive 10" by MicroMat. Nice but expensive.
