The Adaptec 2906 is not bootable as it has no on-board firmware (drivers). It's drivers are loaded from the OS (extensions). All other Adaptec cards should be bootable if they are working properly, and assuming your machine doesn't ahve the mysterious disease that causes PowerSurge machines to ignore the Start-Up Disk selection.
