I believe Jeff meant "original 604e prossessor", not G3?. Working too

When you are getting the black screen, you can almost always fix it by
resetting (or powering up) and hitting the "reset PRAM" combination
(cmd-opt-P-R) before the start-up chime. If you are slow and hit the
keys after the start-up chime it does a different reset which is less
thorough.
