Whether a news server is 'authenticated' has nothing to do with spam.
Google groups is not, and the spammers have automated software doing
their posting for them -- and google doesn't care.
All I know about annexcafe is what boaterdave spews in dozens of Usenet
groups. I don't care about it. Sorry.
I'm only subscribed to two groups on Annexcafe and they are excellent.
One is computer support group. The other is similar to what Mozilla Test
Multimedia before it was annihilated.
the owner of the server is rather strict so far as spam goes.
