I /am/ impartial, but my perspective may be different to yours.

By preventing beta testers from auto-upgrading to 2.4 (release) before
auto-upgrading to 2.5 (first beta), the Firefox team are also preventing
beta testers from confirming that an upgrade from 2.4 (final) to
2.5 has no negative impact; thus when non beta-testers such as myself
are auto-upgraded from 2.4 to 2.5, there is a non-zero risk that such
an upgrade will cause problems.  Not bias, Jens, just a different
perspective.
