What I meant was that it wasn't that difficult to *set up* the programs that
run these type of files -- and they run fine.

As Gary Maddox suggested in his other post to this thread, I tried all five
different "T" settings, but they made no difference; Blaster Master is still
unable to detect the modem. I see that Gary doesn't believe that I'm having
a "runtime" error either, because of CPU speed...

Whatever the case, I *do* know that the Toshiba uses IRQ 7 for the parallel
port, although it *should* be free (according to another diagnostic
utility) for use by another program.

At first run under Win98 and PC DOS, SDTEST doesn't detect *anything* in any
of the categories listed. If my CPU is still too fast, I'll try some of
your other work-a-rounds later... I'm running out of time at the moment.
I'll be back this evening (from work), but I'll be out of town and away from
the PCs after then until late Sunday.

INFOPLUS, another diagnostic utility, says that my Sound Blaster port is
$220 and has Roland MPU-401. The printer port (and Serial Port!) have $0378
listed as their Base Ports...

Since my manual says that I have a "Sound Blaster Pro" compatible sound
card, I've used Creative Labs' sbpdu.exe and sbpup.exe programs for
installation, drivers and diagnostics.
