First, I should thank you for your observations, Gary -- and Blaster Master
appears to be a great interface for use with SB and compatible cards.  And
if you can find a way to get it to detect and use my Toshiba's SB Pro
compatible sound card, I'll be happy to buy the registered version of it.

As I've mentioned to Eko, this notebook has a 300 MHz MMX Intel Pentium
processor with a 66 MHz bus, and I've tried the program that slows down the
CPU, but it makes no difference in BM's inability to detect the sound card.

So far, the *only* problem I have is getting the sound card to *record* --
with other programs, I can play wav or midi files just fine, and it has no
difficulty playing CD music.  I'm curious... why should recording be such a
special difficulty with this card and nothing else?  I can record with this
card under Win98 with no problems (wav files), but not with anything under
DOS...
