If you're having problems recording under DOS, it could be that it is only
SB Pro compatible for playback. Since it is a laptop, it's probably a
single chip based soundcard. ESS makes a compatible chip that is included
on many motherboards. Since SB Pro support is needed primarily for DOS
games, recording support could have been left off. Something else that
occured to me yesterday is if your card is using an IRQ that's not
originally supported by the SB Pro, BM and many other programs won't work.
If you have the SET BLASTER= parms correctly set, and I recommend you
typing "SET" from DOS and having a look at your environment to verify this,
BM should find your card if it's really compatible. Win98 could also be the
problem. We use several PC's at work that connect to our old mainframe. We
run a freeware program that emulates an Adds Viewpoint terminal. This
program, sinple as it is, will not run under Win98. We were forced to
replace it with a windows compatible terminal emulator. I suggest you look
into a windows based wav editor like cool edit or soundforge.

Good luck,
Gary
