One thing about windows managing the swap is that it hasn't got the sense
to switch to a partition/drive with the most free space.  So, it's sitting
there on C: which often gets very crowded while there is often a partition
used for storage that has plenty of free space.  If so, you manually set it
to that partition without restricting its maximum size.  you can also set a
minimum size to be sure you cannot crowd it out by filling the drive.  That
way, even when very little is in there, the file still reads that much
space, and will not let you stuff the drive more than that.  On very
restrictive drives I'll create a partition just for the swap, min 20MB
prefer 50, and then that partition will never get filled on it.
