Hi, Guys,
We are still in the 20th century because 100 years have not yet been
completed since 1901. Remember, no year 0. We are still in the second
millennium since 1000 years have not yet been completed since the beginning
of 1001. However, we are definitely out of the decade of the '90's since a
decade is a ten-year period, and the first 90 year of the last decade was
1990. Start with 1990 and go through 1999 and you have ten complete years.
The Nineties of the 20th century are definitely done, and are history.
All the worldwide celebrations, as brought to me via the BBC World Service
on shortwave radio, and by ABC News and CNN on television, were very
interesting, especially since I was home with the vicious strain of the Flu
and couldn't go out to any local celebrations in Atlanta, or have anybody
over at my place, or go to somebody else's place to celebrate.
Happy Y2K to you all, still using all those old survivor computers that did
not blow up, and who's software still works just like it always did with the
possible exception of some funky dates, and some odd file sorts.
