This X-server setup is the nastiest thing in the Linux maelstroem
anyway. If you haven't got the monitor and video card specifications
completely and precisely, you're stuck, or in danger. (So call some
obscure screen or card producer when you "sit in Siberia", for
instance.)

Madness is that the XF86Setup program with its GUI *does* arrive to
use the apparently best possible screen resolution with a given
machine setup - and there's *no* way to simply get to know how it does
(and to use the details of the configuration of *that* one as is.)

Linux open, transparent ? I ask you.
