Well, I would have thought if they were saying bootable CDs made DOS unnecessary, they either don't use DOS because they can boot from CD or are incredibly stupid. Obviously some people will use DOS as you say, but not every Linux installation depends on it either. For instance, the only time I need to use DOS these days is to boot NetWare (even NetWare 6, which is the current version, requires that it be started from DOS; there are apparently moves afoot within Novell to remove this dependency though). > Sorry, I don't understand you here.
