I have other options to get files on and off the SE ( LocalTalk or
ethernet connection to one of my other macs; Sneakernet w/ floppies or
Zip Disks)-- All of them are easier than booting into OS 9, but none of
them are as easy as a direct network connection to the G4 (which is the
only computer that is always on and always hooked up to the network).

But all this aside, unless you are using a very new Mac that simply
cannot
boot OS 9, and assuming you have no access whatsoever to a copy of OS 9
(highly unlikely), then why not simply take a few seconds to boot into
OS 9
and enjoy compatible Appletalk connections?
