I suspect that the cards are not the source of the difficulty.
My wife uses the playing card tablets exclusively, usually with a
90 card warp, and does not have this problem.
Are your cards all threaded in the same direction? (S or Z) If so,
the threads on adjacent cards will have to pass each other going
in opposite direcdtions. That leads to the popping sounds or sensation
you sometimes get when turning the pack. If the cards are alternating
S and Z, the threads don't fight each other.
Another concern could be how tightly compressed the pack is. If they
aren't free enough to spread apart, it makes any hangups that much
stronger. The suggestion of a warp spreader may address this.
Another possibility: how tight is your warp? If it is very tight,
that could offer additional resistance to turning.
We both have considerable experience with the playing card tablets
(and we take perfectly good brand new decks of Bicycle cards and
chop them up, drill holes, and round off the corners to sell them)
and don't run into the problem you are describing.
yours,
Michael
