My problem is, I'm having tension issues side to side.
It's relatively minor, but it's bugging me. The
edges are packing tighter than the middle. I usually
can redistribute this kind of thing by pinching and
pulling the threads to spread them, but it doesn't
seem to be working. I'm already using a warp spreader,
but can't spread it too wide or the warp will fall off
the loom.

I had the same problem the last time I used alot of tablets, though it wasn't as noticeable with the pattern I was weaving. Because I was using a warp-weighted loom, (which has a comb-like bar at the end) I found that I fixed it somewhat by closing in the central threads - that is, more than one on a 'tooth'. This helped a bit, but not alot!

I also currently weave at the side of the loom, with the cloth beam on my left. I have found that even on smaller bands my 'top' edge seems to be closer together than my 'bottom' (ie the left side of the band). However, if I weave by sitting over the cloth beam, so that the band works out in front of me, I haven't noticed the same problem. So, I suspected that it has something to do with the way I pull the warp.
