I think it would be inappropriate to try to answer that for them.  They do
seem to be enjoying and living in the music they are playing, and that comes
out.  But, they are still fairly young players, and while technically
fantastic, I feel that players of their age and ability still trend toward
sounding like someone else rather than developing their own improvisational
voice.  I like that it feels they are playing to and off each other, but
this particular tune, Old Daingerfield, the changes they have made to the
structure of the song feel contrived rather than an extension of the tune.
But, again, that's just my 2 cents.  Please don't cast me out with the
curmudgeons, that's not the point.  I listen to these guys and players like
them all day, pretty much every day.  I love the acoustic jazz sets, the
newgrass, etc, but I also have a profound respect for the bones of a song.
