I'd love to elaborate on this especially for those who don't fully
understand the functionality being discussed here. At least from the
POV of a mere user, rather than someone with technical background. ;)

You can easily create a MIME digest with TB! by opening a new
message and then going back to the main TB! window and drag and drop
messages from the message list straight unto the editor window. You
can drag and drop multiple messages by selecting them and just
dragging and dropping them unto the editor window. You can select
messages from multiple folders and different accounts. So creating
    your MIME digest is simple.

Now send the message to yourself and you now have a MIME digest to
fiddle with. You'll see the attachments pain on the left with all
    the messages as attachments.

Double clicking on any of these attached messages will open a
separate new window showing the messages body. In this separate
window, go to the menu 'View' and select 'Message List'. A message
list will appear showing all the other messages within the MIME
digest. You can see each messages basic list headers as you would
any other incoming message, read them one at a time, thread them and
answer each message separately using the header information from
    each message.

I now need to get these messages within a particular folder, i.e.,
'burst' the digest. How to do this. Simple .... select all the
messages in the list and then drag and drop them all to a folder of
your choice. You may wish to put them in separate folders. No
problem. Just drag and drop as you wish to the folders of your
    choice.

And now, finally; my tentative and subjective opinion:

There's not much more that one would need for handling a MIME
    digest.. <shrug>
