Try this: Create a new folder. Can be inthe same account.

Go to the troublesome Inbox. Mark all messages, and copy them to the
newly-created folder.

Close TB. Delete the messages.tbb and messages.tbi files in the Inbox'
directory. (What I do in such cases is to just rename, them, so TB
won't find them, but I can still go back if I want to.)

Open TB. a new messages.tbb will be created, but your Inbox is now
empty.

Go to the "new" folder and copy all messages to the Inbox.

Now see if the problem has disappeared.
