I agree if you see that this approach fails consistently. The first
time will likely be a culture shock for many people.

Rome wasn't built in a day, and all that nonsense. ;-)

But yes, if you are consistently doing the right thing and
consistently being ushered back to your corner, it's time to update
the ol' resume and move on.
