I've been working on an interesting project - my first foray into hardware writing in 20 years. I'm doing a contract as an Information Architect for a big chip maker. They have some new chip coming out in the next year or so and have realized that documentation is a make or break feature. They expect over 2,500 pages of manuals to accompany it -- too much for anyone to wade through and find useful at all. So in order to make the product acceptable to their users, they're doing what I call an Information Application to allow easy access to relevant information for people who use this chip in various applications. I'm doing it in HTML via Dreamweaver, and it looks like it's going to be both very useful and interesting and challenging to pull off. Just getting the finishes put on the design now, and a working prototype is in it's final throes, so we're on our way.
