>>rvalyi Unfortunately I am not able to speak/read french. Anyway I will probably use google translations on some time to read it, thanks.
What about IT skills, it's not so bad for IT guys, like us, but a bit scares people, that do not understand the geeky way of doing things, away. Ok, there are confusing things about OpenERP that I do not understand, they are not bothering me, but still I do not like if I understand the way things happen. *) I do not understand how programmers/developers can maintain not so small codebase without significant amount of comments throughout the code. Actually I have seen not much more than 10 lines of comments. Are they filtered out? I am afraid it is the case, but why? *) Fabien himself had posted code snippets in the forum, to address some major security bugs, but still after 2 or more years, throughout numerous versions none of them had been implemented. I do not believe that pretty widespread system, like OpenERP is, have not been subject for attacks or information stealing. How can system be deployed in medium sized companies with some 50...70 people, probably with not so happy employees and concurrent companies, where anybody with little or no IT skills can access any information? And you actually can not do anything about it without redesigning whole mechanism of secuity. Are there other versions for internal use? *)I do not believe that company with 60 or so employees use the same wiki as general community - there are even most basic things wrong or very outdated... We have some 10 time less IT personnel and have pretty much doc for any operation, OK, we do not have doc for printer installation :) Consequently it is interesting how much a customer (partner) can benefit if everything is the same for everyone. I can guess that it is not possible to grow at Fabien's stated rate, and have skilled personnel with this level of docs. I do not know why there is need for 60 people when it is clear that only one man knows what he is talking about - Fabien. BTW I have been on holidays for one week in last 10 years and working some 10-14 hours a day, 6 days a week. No one cares about this - it is pretty much personal, every entrepreneur would do so. Anyway you must understand, that at least I am not talking about OpenERP, but rather way of cooperation, which is pretty much undefined and shaky - people's statements and obvious things just do not match. I do not think that "too much marketing" would describe that feeling, but close to it. And hey, I am not tossing the guy on white horse, at least I see none, I just want to get clear before buying a "gray" product, which is marketed all over the place. Obviously, here in the forum, there is the only place to look for pre-sales support. Of coarse on the way of discussion there appears several other close themes. Similar threads in this forum was very helpful, but still leaves wast blank spots. I agree for about 80%, or so, with you guys and appreciate your involvement. -sraps -------------------- m2f -------------------- -- http://www.openerp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=26645#26645 -------------------- m2f -------------------- _______________________________________________ Tinyerp-users mailing list http://tiny.be/mailman/listinfo/tinyerp-users
