What a strange idea of the world you have. No company has a duty to do any such thing, unless you have a contract with them for that. ralead wrote: > ...Yes a know, but about 4 times more expensive than one of the best products > for small and medium manufacturing shop is too much. Your quotation seems quite high ($300k?), and I am surprised that you did not go to several partners for a quotation. For something of this scale and importance I would not leave it to one supplier. The comment about 'Out of the box' is key to your statements. If you are looking for an 'out of the box' solution then a proprietary 'black box' such as the ones you quote may be your best option. They may be cheap to install, and right for the moment. It's your choice to put your company's future in the hands of your vendor, rather than to keep control yourself, and that may be the right choice for your company. You may not then be able to benefit from the flexibility that Open ERP could give you: but you may not want to, either. If you don't think that your company will change much over the next few years then perhaps you should go to the black box supplier. The supplier may last no longer than most other proprietary ERP vendors have done, but that may also be no problem if you need no future support. Some companies don't. Since you have decided that Open Source is not for you, it appears, then you will not want to continue discussing it here. If you do, then it would not be unreasonable for people to think you are trolling (http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/What_is_a_troll%3F#Definition_of_trolling"). ------------------------ Regards, Geoff Seath Solutions Ltd (http://www.seathsolutions.com) -------------------- m2f -------------------- -- http://www.openerp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=26410#26410 -------------------- m2f -------------------- _______________________________________________ Tinyerp-users mailing list http://tiny.be/mailman/listinfo/tinyerp-users
