Once upon a time sanr shaped the electrons to say... > I'm a little confused here by these two messages. Are you saying > that the WEP key has nothing to do with the TiVo and TV in one and > in the other that if you enter the WEP key on the proper screen then > it WILL work? So the WEP key will affect this CC problem or not?
WEP has absolutely nothing to do with CableCARD. WEP is a (bad) security system for WiFi networks. It is related to your TiVo's network connection, not the cable signal. WEP, or WPA (the good WiFi security system), don't have any relation to CableCARD or the TV side of things at all. > Please help me to understand, because they are talking right now to > TiVo tech and still having more problems. The Tivo tech is telling > them to use an M card with the S3. If you use M-Card in the S3 it needs two of them. M-Cards fall back to acting like S-Cards when used in devices that do not support multistream - like the S3. (The TiVo HD supports multistream and can use one M-Card, the S3 does not and needs two.) -MZ -- megazone-at-megazone.org http://www.MegaZone.org/ Gweep, Geek, Human, me. http://www.TiVoLovers.com/ http://www.Eyrie-Productions.com/ -><- Hail Eris "A little nonsense now and then, is relished by the wisest men" 508-852-2171
