fair enough

is that different from actually caring about them? (or am I confusing
companies?)

Maybe. There might be (and probably will only have been) one update,
and it might or might not conflict (see blurb when you get there).

The most basic non conflicting form is a comment. And whether things
are really considered updates, I dunno.... (I spend a measurable
amount of time wordsmithing, both for my employer [my project and all
the others I see], and for projects including Bugzilla and I really
haven't solved this one).

Bugzilla (and most software, except Apple's) needs to have titles for
windows (and web pages). As such, it needs something short and
concise.

The rest of the page really does show what happened.

Anyway, there are some test bugs in your Bugzilla, steps:
1. load http://defect.opensolaris.org/bz/show_bug.cgi?id=3&GoAheadAndLogIn=1
2. (log in)
3. enter "test" into the whiteboard
4. open a new window
5. in the new window, load http://defect.opensolaris.org/bz/show_bug.cgi?id=3
6. in the first window, commit your changes
7. in the second window add yourself to the cc list
8. commit your changes

you should now have a midair message.
