I am trying to understand this but am not sure I am getting it. You have a network setup that you choose to shutdown for periods of time, perhaps to save electricity ? You have your HDD w music files attached to the Touch itself and want to use it wo turning on your router/network.I am at a bit of a loss because when I was running w the drive attached directly to the Touch I did not have a network/router.
What steps are you following on the Touch to access your library? What version of the server SBS?LMS are you running ? If you can provide more info perhaps someone here will be able to figure out your issue.
