The last part is incorrect. If you don't assign static IP addresses and
have no DHCP server available, the server and Squeezebox will assign
themselves addresses, but they _will_ be on the same subnet of
169.254.0.0/16. It's designed to work like this and is called
'link-local addressing'
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Link-local_address). Just make sure that
neither one is configured with a static IP address. It's actually the
simplest way to make it work.
