This actually is the crux of the matter. There is a lot of cruft in OOo. Unfortunately when I took the time to report some errors in strings the response was 'How did you find that, we don't use it anynore' multiply that by 10 words by 10 languages and you see quite a lot of wasted effort. I don't mind reporting as I know it helps others but its discouraging to think that the 80k words that is OOo might have lots of cruft. But don't worry the software is Free. Sun's work used to be under the SISSL (or whatever acronym) and LGPL. It is now only under the LGPL. With the JCA you don't give up your copyright but do also give it to Sun. Its helpful as it allows them to do what they did when they decided to use only the LGPL. Without JCA they would have had to track everyone down to ask permission! The LGPL allows them to build StarOffice on top of OpenOffice.org even without the JCA. But rest assured all your translations can be used by OOo for Windows and all distributions that use it for Linux. You might want to check if the NeoOffice people use it for Vietnamese :) -- Dwayne Bailey Translate.org.za +27-12-460-1095 (w) +27-83-443-7114 (cell) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys.
