Blainer) First of all, I find it difficult to carry on a mutually
respectful conversation with you when you refer to a man I greatly
respect as "Joe Boy." His name was Joseph Smith.
Secondly, you misunderstood what I was saying. Joseph was simply trying
to be kind to his wife by not telling her something she did not have
faith enough to accept. He loved her too much to upset her. Haven't
you ever kept something back from someone because you did not want to
upset that person? He had the commandment to practice plural marriage to
keep, just as Abraham had the commandment to sacrifice Isaac to keep.
Both prophets kept the truth from their wives. Neither wife had the
faith to accept the Lord's will under such trying circumstances.

I know many women who are stronger in the

Blainer) Yes, so do I, but that was not the case with Joseph and Emma.

I'm not saying women shouldn't be under authority

Laura

Blainer) I am simply stating the facts as I know them. This has nothing
to do with women's treatment by Mormon men in general. In fact, I
think Momon men treat their wives far better than the average, and
respect them for their strong faith. The above cases were unusual to
the extreme.
