I don’t think Jesus was ever an angel. He was always the Son of God even prior to his birth in Bethlehem, James Templeton

DAVEH:  Hi Michael.......I must apologize to you and others who've been asking questions to which I have not replied.  I have quite a few irons in the fire right now, and don't know when I'll dig out from under the load.  But.....I do feel obligated not to totally ignore you and the other TTers who've taken time to ask questions, so I'll respond as I have time.

Regarding your below question......I simply don't know how to answer it.  I am not the smartest student of LDS theology.  I am not aware of any distinction between 'arch angels', anointed cherubs and others.  When I get a chance, I'll do a small amount of research into the topic to see what other LDS folks have said about them.  I'll let you know if I find anything of importance.  In the mean time, perhaps Blaine has some thoughts about it.

As for your second question.......Jesus had an elevated status over Lucifer in the pre-mortal existence as I understand.  And certainly, when Lucifer rebelled he lost what heavenly status he previously had as he was ejected from heaven.  Does that help, Michael?

Michael D:  Dave H: would you care to give ma an answer on this one, below?  I would really like to know how you all understand this.
Michael D: Hey Blainer or Dave H, I an curious to know: as an angel, was Jesus an arch angel or a lesser one? Since Lucifer was the 'anointed cherub', was Jesus below him or above him?
