How many of the 972 emails you sent last month were actually helpful? How
many of the emails offended someone? How many were sent out with tones of
arrogance and disrespect? How many talented Java developers have been
intimidated and put off the whole Turbine project, when they may have
become some of the most valuable contributors?
I think these are the questions that you need to ask yourself, Jon. If
you only sent out 100 _helpful_ emails each month, instead of so many
offensive emails, every project that you are involved in would benefit and
you would probably save time too. I don't think anyone has any problems
with you being opinionated, as long as it is for the benefit of the
development community... I am sure that many of the other Turbine
developers are opinionated too, but they don't offend anyone in the
process.
