With Turbine 2, it was quite large. We have been working to re-factor a lot
of that and make it much smaller and more compact. We are also working to
make the execution cleaner, most customizable and easier to work with as
well as understand.
turbine-3.jar is down to something like ~100k and less than 90 classes.
Pretty impressive for a fully featured framework.

I think that is a key point right there.

Hence the reason why mailing lists are better.

Yup. The "abrasiveness" that people see is simply my lack of time to write
out nice :-) all over the place. Last month, I sent 972 emails, with the
majority being my effort to help people out, define the direction of the
bazillion projects I'm involved with, etc, how many did you send? I'm also
very opinionated. That isn't a bad thing IMHO.
If you meet me in person, you will note that I'm not abrasive at all and I'm
actually quite nice.
