I totally agree... but I think Jon has stepped over that line many times.
I have been reading through the Turbine source and following this mailing
list for quite some time now and I know that when the time comes to decide
which technologies will be used for my company's next databased-backed web
application, I want choose Turbine and Velocity. I am particulary
impressed with Turbine 3.0.
The problem that I have run into is that I have been trying to promote
the use of Turbine/Velocity over Struts/JSP, and several of my well
respected and talented developers have been put off Turbine due to
the unfriendly content in the mailing list archives. The developers
that have read the source agree that Turbine is extremely well designed
and written, but the lack of good documentation and community support is
still an issue. Of course, this would improve if only I could convince my
developers to start using and contributing to Turbine...

I agree... it's just that there are many other talented Java developers
out there besides the Turbine developers that shouldn't have to support
their opinions either... and often they are treated with disrespect by
Jon. I have never had a problem with any posts from anyone else on this
list (apart from newbies who don't bother trying to figure out their own
problems before posting).
I'll shut up now.
