>From what I can tell, if he was over 21 at the time, it was a felony. Maybe I'm just jaded from clerking in a DA's office for a year. Everybody has an excuse. Everybody had a bad childhood, or an abusive boyfriend, or a mean boss, or a dead lover. But a lot of people have problems in their lives, and they don't go around raping little girls. Seriously, even in the worst case scenario of judicial and/or prosecutorial corruption, the guy did what he was accused of, and he hasn't served out his time. Even if I could empathize with a celebrity feeling as if the system was picking on him, it does not negate the actual crime committed. And I am not saying I want him to serve anything more than the norm. But if you or I had diddled a teenage girl, then fled the country for 30 years, you can bet your bippy you or I would be serving time if/when apprehended. As long as Polanski gets whatever you or I would get, I'm alright with that. -- Kevin M. (RPCV) --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ TV or Not TV .... The Smartest (TV) People!
