Can someone explain how fuel is routed between the four tanks of a Uniflite
46? I have two forward "saddle tanks" of about 68 gallons (I've been told)
and two master tanks aft of 182 gallons each. I notice on the fuel gauge the
saddle tanks rise and fall as fuel is consumed. That is, the forward tank
will read half full, then it will read full and again later back to half
full. I assume the excess diesel fuel is being routed to the forward tanks
which causes them to fill, but then how do they go back to half full? What
mechanism is in place to cause fuel to go one way, then reverse out?

I'm confused.

Thanks for any explanations.

Doug
