Have you measured the power figures of the external drive(s) as well? Only fair to include those when comparing vs. a Linkstation or laptop. And more importantly (to me), do the hard drives get spun down when not in use? I read somewhere else that someone's external USB drive never spun down, and was wondering whether that is a real limitation, or just a misconfiguration.
