Getting XP running may be easy, but keeping it going can be a pain: Why is the user interface on my SB sluggish? Why are my files stuttering? It was fine yesterday? Oh, my anti-virus scan kicked off an hogged up 90% of my CPU for an hour or so. Ugh! Why is the display on my squeezebox blank? Oh, XP installed a "critical update" and rebooted itself. I don't have SC setup as a service, so the server didn't start automatically upon reboot. Ugh again! These are 2 annoying issues that disappeared when I went to Linux. Yeah, there may be a bit of a learning curve, but things are just easier once it is up an running on Linux. You load the software, configure it, and forget about it! And you don't have to become a Linux guru to get it going - I'm certainly not a guru. Yeah, us we are a bit biased in the Linux forum :-). Good luck. -- maggior ------------------------------------------------------------------------ maggior's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=9080 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=49951 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/unix
