Thanks for all th great replies/discussion. I did go ahead and bite the Ubuntu bullet so to speak. My newest laptop got a clean desktop install and it is up and running. The new server got a server install and it is halfway running. I figured it would be easier to rlogin to the server from another Ubuntu machine vs. trying to remote manage via windows.
The bad part is I am having a hard time getting squeezecenter to actually run. The best I can find is I am getting an error on boot that it can't load a squeezecenter exception for the Apparmor (kinda hard to read through the broken screen). I tried all the stuff I could find in the discussions and had no luck, yet, but that will be for another thread :) I did see one comment that I never thought about though. My laptop obviously came pre-installed with all sorts of power saving features in Windows, since this is going to be on 24/7 I will have to do some more digging on how to enable similar things on the Ubuntu server. -- Jonnio ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Jonnio's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=18575 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=49951 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/unix
