Some of you may be interested to know that according to http://www.linuxmint.com/about.php, "Started in 2006, Linux Mint is now the 4th most widely used home operating system behind Microsoft Windows, Apple Mac OS and Canonical's Ubuntu." I foolishly assumed this might bear some relationship to the truth, and that products such as SB would therefore work. I think I need a break from this for a while before contemplating starting over again. I need to understand what these variations are all about before spending more fruitless days on it. I had been hoping Linux would make my life simpler. Having loads of choice is great for people who are really interested and knowledgeable about such things. For people who just want to have something that works without really in-depth computer know how, choice is not so good, since one has little except advice on forums such as these on which to rely. Whilst I am very grateful for the helpful responses from people on these forums, surely 99% of people never want to visit them. They just want to plug in and go, don't they? -- PasTim Server on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit, 2 CPU, 2GHz, 4GB, FLAC files. Touch on Ethernet (in another room).
